Education Not Deportation – (non-fiction essay)

By Adrian

please tell us; what’s the importance of, not only, giving access to higher education for undocumented students, but also providing financial assistance to those individuals?

Providing financial assistance to the undocumented student population is humane.
For me, receiving this assitance will alleviate the stress that I have when I think
about having to either pay the bills, pay for school or send money to my parents so they can have food on the table.
You see, prior to 2008 the only thing that I had to worry about, financially, was figuring
out how to pay for school. Because at that time, I was living with my parents.
But now that my family has had to experience the deportation of my parents, I must
chose between bills, school and my parent’s well being.
